In order to practice as a Counselor in any state, you must be licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), or other comparable state license designation. License requirements may vary. It is your responsibility to ascertain and meet licensure requirements in any state in which you desire to practice.

These courses do not lead to professional certification or licensure as a mental health provider.

  • How to develop competencies necessary to provide career and vocational counseling to clients
  • Crisis theory, methods of crisis response, psychological effects associated with trauma, assessment strategies, and intervention models
  • Models of supervision and counselor development, supervision and management processes, assessment and evaluation issues, and ethical and legal aspects of supervision
  • The many facets of human sexuality and the treatment of sexual dysfunctions in a safe and respectful environment

Prerequisites are gathered for individual courses to make sure every student enrolled in the course has the foundational knowledge to be successful. To show you meet the required prerequisite for some courses, you simply have to upload a digital copy of your transcript (official or unofficial) during the checkout process. Then you’re good to go.
